{"id":536,"date":"2011-05-04T05:15:28","date_gmt":"2011-05-04T12:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/salesjumpstart.net\/blog\/?p=536"},"modified":"2011-05-04T05:19:03","modified_gmt":"2011-05-04T12:49:03","slug":"google-citation-and-links-denver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/salesjumpstart.net\/blog\/2011\/05\/04\/google-citation-and-links-denver\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Citation and Links DEnver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interesting Changes in Citations and Links this year.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, as a matter of practice , when we did on line visibility programs for clients we added directory links to many of the major on line directories, yellow pages, and other local web sites.\u00a0 We would then track the traffic from each (as part of the analytics) and quality scoring. Part of that was watching the back links report to see when the listing, citation or link was &#8220;indexed&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>We do much more than just this process during on line visibility programs, so we have a very rounded profile to drive traffic to a clients site.<\/p>\n<p>The interesting thing is,\u00a0 most of the local directory and y.p sites are no longer showing up as links, or as indexed, and the traffic to a clients site from these sources is way down<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here is an example.\u00a0 Hot Frog has traditional been a good citation site and gets a lot of traffic.\u00a0 But sine January, we have not seen a clients listing appear as a link to there site, and traffic is almost non existent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hotfrog.com\/Companies\/Fine-Line-Painting_26021667\">This listing <\/a>has been live for almost three months.
