Spradley Barr Ford. Fake Google reviews?

Spradley Barr Ford. 4809 South College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80525-3724 (888) 451-9540 (970) 206-8511. Fake Google reviews? You decide.

I have no idea why fake reviews on Google places bother me so much, but they do. I can understand a company that wants to promote their business, but having black hat Internet services post what appear to be completely fake reviews for the sole purpose of deceiving the public is nefarious in my opinion.

Now, if a company posts an actual review from a real customer under a made up google account, that’s no biggie to me. I am pointing out what we think are the pure blatant lies that appear in many (and I mean many) Google Places listings.

In fairness to the businesses, I am sending an email before posting what I consider the fake listings, and asking that they stop (if they are involved in paying for reviews). If it stops in a week or two, you won’t see any information here. Hey, a lot of small business owners make mistakes. The exception will be larger companies who know better, and specifically Car Dealships, who seem to lead the black hat parade on fake Google reviews.

So with that…. Lets start with Spradley Barr Ford. I have no relationship with them, and have never set foot in their show room, very much (I suspect) like the reviewers you are about to meet.

If you continue to go through the reviews for Spradley Ford you will find the same trend over and over. Now there is no way I can positively say these are fake. I’ll let you decide. I am more than happy to discuss this with any representative from Spradley.

And just as a final quick note. I did a blog like this on another dealership a year or so ago, and was accused by a misguided local SEO, that I was doing so to solicited their business. So to be clear, I will never represent or do any Internet Marketing for any company listed in these alleged fake reviews, unless they can prove that I am wrong, and these are real. In which case, I will remove the blog and make my sincere apoligies.

It should also be noted that the other companies you see under these reviewers accounts may be innocent by standers, as the reviewer may be adding a few local reviews just to look more legitimate?

First Page Rankings On Google Guaranteed Is A Farce

First Page of Google Guaranteed is a Farce.

I have received three emails over the last month from companies that will “Get your site on the first page of Google and not accept any payment until you are on the first page”. They do require you submit the keyword you are trying to rank for of course, and after they research it, they will let you know if you qualify for the no pay until first page program.

Two things. One, and this is very important, being on the first page in the 4^th through 10^th position isn’t going to bring you much traffic. Maybe less than a percent of all the searches. Remember the first position gets 38% or so of all the clicks.

Second. If they need to qualify what keyword you want, they are only going to accept the easy keywords, which are easy to optimize because they get very little traffic and have very little competition.

E Discovery services are not a mass market product. E Discovery is in fact a highly specialized field that it utilized by law firms and Attorneys in the discovery process of a law suite. Portable modular living quarters.

One interesting aspect of working with company’s on their web site popularity and Search engine optimization is the type of services you get introduced to. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting with a firm that specializes in the design of prototype modular buildings. In just a few months the operation manager will be heading to the Antarctic to assemble some of their modular living quarters, data center and other research related buildings designed and engineered specifically for a research team.

Now I certainly enjoy working with many different type industries, but I had never heard of this specialty. I had to understand how they even entered this market.

I was told that they were approached by a large corporation about 6 years ago who needed a modular electrical data center built. The rest is history, as their reputation in the Industry has lead them to work for some of the country’s largest corporations and defense contractors by providing prototype modular buildings, including data centers, living quarters, electric power control rooms, and more.

Business coaching in Denver and Colorado Springs

Having had the opportunity to work with hundreds of small and medium business owners in both Denver and Colorado Springs, as well as across the entire USA, there are two elements I have found in every successful and growing business. Those are , first they have excellent advisers, and second they have great employees.

If you take a look at the businesses you know that are doing well, I would bet they have those two elements. And so, if that statement is true, you should be able to reverse it and have the same out come. Business that are struggling, and not growing do not have two things, great employees, and great advisers.

So if your business is not living up to what you thought it was suppose to produce, both in income and lifestyle, you may want to look at this.

One of the more interesting insights for me when looking at all this is of all the businesses I have known to use a business coach in Denver or Colorado Springs, the VAST majority have grown and been happy they made the choice to utilize a coach. Let’s face it, what many of us need is to be held accountable, and to have access to great information. A business coach will do both for you and a lot more. There are very few challenges in business a coach hasn’t seen.

I have seen a few business not do well with business coaching, and drop the program after a few months. In these couple of cases (less than 7% of the total businesses I know that used a coach) I can say that today both continue to struggle, and not live up to the potential the owner saw in the company.

So, rule one… ask any company asking for your marketing or advertising dollars for three local references from similar customers. How hard can that be?

No more buying rules, just three proven systems that might jump start your sales with a reasonable to good return on investment.

There are 3 type lead and sales generation programs. Short, mid and long term results. We all want short, so lets start there.

Need sales this week?

Use Google ad words with a well thought out limited keyword campaign, have a company with experience in Ad Words develop the campaign, or you may end up throwing your money away.

Mid term:

Hire a business development manager either full time or part time. A business development managers job is to get you and your company in front of well qualified buyers. I have worked with many business owners who have hired sales people, having no experience hiring or managing sales people, and the results are predictable. How do Sales and SEO relate to each other?

And why would a company offer both Search engine optimization services and Sales programs? Because, sales professionals and small business owners can spend up to 80% of their sales effort on generating leads. And SEO is a very good way to reduce the dollars and time spent finding prospects. The best thing a business can do to increase sales numbers, is increase the number of leads coming in. That means more time is spent in front of a prospect instead of finding them. Then they can go to work on converting more leads into customers.
